Our client is a specialist data centre main contractor delivering a full turnkey solution on New Build Data Centre projects across Europe, covering civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical and commissioning works. Group turnover is already in excess of €1.5bn and their order book is full for the next 3-years.
Due to continued growth, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join the project delivery team on a major data centre development in Portugal.
The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for supporting the delivery of complex electrical systems on a large-scale, mission-critical data centre project, ensuring works are completed safely, in line with programme, and to the highest quality standards.
• Support the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems across the project.
• Coordinate electrical works with CSA and MEP teams to ensure seamless integration.
• Review electrical drawings, specifications, and technical submittals for compliance and constructability.
• Monitor site progress and report against programme milestones.
• Manage subcontractor activities, ensuring quality, safety, and productivity targets are achieved.
• Assist with inspection, testing, and commissioning activities, including snagging and handover documentation.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, local regulations, and applicable standards.
• Support procurement activities, including technical evaluations and material approvals.
• Champion Health & Safety best practice across all electrical works on site.
• Degree or trade qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience delivering electrical works on large-scale construction projects.
• Previous experience on data centre, pharmaceutical, or other mission-critical projects is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of LV and MV electrical systems, testing, and commissioning processes.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
